NSW GOVERNMENT AND LANE COVE COUNCIL CATER FOR OUR BEST FRIENDS
Lane Cove dogs and their owners will be able to enjoy more in the great outdoors following the opening of an off-leash, fenced dog park in Blackman Park.
“Thanks to funding of $50,000 from the NSW Government and an equal contribution from Lane Cove Council for a fenced area, our four legged friends will be able to run around unfettered while their owners can interact with each other,” Member for Lane Cove, Anthony Roberts said.
“While Blackman Park fields 3 and 4 will continue to be a popular area for dogs and their owners, the money from the Stronger Community Fund and Council has allowed for additional facilities for those who can’t use the current area when the fields are in use.
“It also provides equipment for a different experience for owners and dogs to interact.”
Mr Roberts said dog parks provide a range of social and health benefits for both the dog and the owner.
“They provide spaces for dog owners to come together to socialise and exercise.
“This facility will provide all dog owners, including the elderly and people with disabilities with an accessible and safe place to exercise their companions”.
