BIG BOOST FOR SENIORS HUB
An upgraded Seniors Hub is opening on the 10th of May, thanks to a NSW Government initiative aiming to continually improve our senior’s access to services within our community.
A total of $19,000 has been invested in conjunction with Sydney Community Services, updating and renovating spaces guided by research focused on best practices in dementia care. The money was complemented with donations from local community members, a new TV, artwork, furnishings and many hours of volunteer work.
Member for Lane Cove, Anthony Roberts MP, said this grant is making a big difference to seniors in the Lane Cove Electorate.
“Seniors Hub enhances the health and well-being of our seniors and people with disability by connecting them with their local community. In addition, the upgrade has provided us with a user-friendly space that is supportive, calming and safe for our clients, especially those with dementia.” Mr Roberts said.
“It is the Liberal National Government in the Lane Cove Electorate who are committed to supporting seniors to ensure our wisest members are getting access to the best quality support possible.”
“The Seniors Hub was run down, with a last major upgrade done more than 15 years ago. The Community Building Partnership funding improved the environment for the aged and people with a disability who attend the hub.” Branka Ivkovic said, The Gladesville Community Connection Manager said.
