“I was recently contacted by a constituent living in Lane Cove, who counted 15 planes between 6am and 6.30am and a total of 100 planes between 6am and 9am”, said Anthony Roberts MP, Member for Lane Cove.

“This is just not acceptable and once again it appears that the Bennelong Funnel is back in action.

“For several years the Sydney Airport Community Forum (SACF), which was established in July 1996 as part of its commitment to addressing the noise impacts from Sydney Airport in consultation with affected residents was bipartisan.

“Following the change in Federal Government in November 2007, the Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government, the Hon Anthony Albanese reconstituted the membership of the Sydney Airport Community Forum and removed those of us representing the Northen Suburbs.

“Now with the runway safety project completed and the east-west runway returned to normal operations, it appears Lane Cove and the Northern Suburbs will experience more air traffic movements.
