| Morris Iemma's Easter Spin Indulgence |

Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Waste Watch Anthony Roberts today revealed Morris Iemma’s Easter present to himself was to beef up his already bloated media spin team to the tune of $630,000. An examination of the weekend’s NSW Government job advertisements reveals seven media, marketing and communication jobs, including two at the Department of Community Services and two for the Roads and Traffic Authority. This comes on the back of the launch of an expensive print and television advertising campaign promoting the re-announcement of the North West Rail Link. “After a year of inaction and incompetence since the election, Morris Iemma has clearly decided to resort to the usual Labor tactics of spin and media management,” Mr Roberts said. “This is proof Morris Iemma is more interested in the fixing the headlines instead of fixing the problems facing the people of NSW,” he said. “With DOCS in crisis and continuing concern over the RTA’s mismanagement of major road projects, such as the Cross City Tunnel, the Iemma Government has resorted to more spin. “Morris Iemma can always find plenty of money for spin doctors, but not much for real doctors in our hospitals. “If Morris Iemma put as much effort into the delivering projects as he does into media management, the people of NSW would be in a much better place. “The people of NSW are sick and tired of desperate media management and want better government from Labor,” Mr Roberts said.
