“The 2009 NSW Volunteer of the Year Award nominations are now open said Anthony Roberts MP, Shadow Minister for Volunteering.

“These awards present a unique opportunity to recognise and publicly acknowledge the invaluable work done by the hundreds of thousands of volunteers in NSW.

“The awards showcase active volunteers who have shown dedication and initiative in their work and have positively contributed to the not-for-profit organisation they volunteer for” said Mr Roberts.

There are three categories:

2009 NSW Volunteer of the Year Award for an Individual 

Nominate a volunteer who has made a positive impact on the not-for-profit they work for and the community they work in?

2009 NSW Employee Volunteer of the Year Award

Nominate volunteers who are sponsored by their employers and are released from employment to carry out volunteer activities. To be nominated for this award, volunteers will have carried out their volunteering as part of an employee or corporate volunteering program.

2009 NSW Volunteer Team of the Year Award  A NEW Category 

Recognise your volunteer team. Your team should comprise of a number of volunteers who have worked on a particular project or program for a legitimate not-for-profit organisation.
